ModCloth bringing its indie, vintage style to Denver pop-up shop

ModCloth is setting up shop in Denver — for three weeks only.

The popular online retailer of indie and vintage-style dresses and other women’s clothing will open a pop-up shop Aug. 12 in Cherry Creek North — and will offer free one-on-one appointments with ModCloth stylists, a full array of sizes from XS to 4X to try on and free shipping direct to your home.

But don’t wait too long to shop the brand’s retro-inspired threads in person: ModCloth IRL will only be in town until Sept. 5.

“Denver style is a perfect fit for our fashion aesthetic,” said Elizabeth Cooksey, ModCloth’s vice president of stores, in an e-mail. “We have a great community of ModCloth fans here in Denver, so we knew it was an integral stop on our summer IRL tour.”

The hybrid showroom and traditional store will have both samples to try on for home delivery and in-stock merchandise, including a custom Denver-ModCloth graphic tee only available in store. One-of-a-kind vintage pieces, home decor and offerings from local artists will also available for purchase.

Special in-store events are planned throughout the Denver stop, including a tea time with Lakewood-based Teakoe on Aug. 13, a Tin Lizzie Apothecary trunk show Aug. 14 and live music Aug. 12, 19 and 26.

If you miss your chance in Denver, the next opportunity to shop ModCloth in person is on the other side of the country — in Pittsburgh in September. The tour, which began this spring in Austin, Texas, was inspired by two pop-up events ModCloth held last year, a three-day event in Los Angeles and another in San Francisco that was so popular it was ultimately extended to eight months, Cooksey said.

The Denver pop-up, at 180 Clayton Lane, will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday during its run. Stylist appointments can be made online at modcloth.com/irl.

“The demand and turnout has been incredible and we are so lucky to get to know, service, and celebrate our Community ‘in real life’ — every day that we are in town,” Cooksey said in an email.
